HDPE Pipes for Industry and Chemical

Chemical processing plants are one of the most challenging environments for industrial piping systems. The combination of harsh chemicals and high temperatures can compromise the long-term integrity of most piping materials, leading to corrosion, leakage, and failure, leading to high replacement costs.

Description of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Industry and chemical Pipes and Fittings

Waste treatment is one of the application where HDPE is most commonly used. Large chemical plants have special waste treatment plants and huge storage tanks, all of which are made of high-density polyethylene material. The material is also used to transport corrosive liquids in an economical way, which has good chemical corrosion performance, acid and alkali resistance. The advantage of HDPE is that it has water tightness, which is the key to not polluting the pipe passing area.

The chemical industry is characterized by the handling of "sensitive" products or substances that require special handling. Therefore, it must be emphasized that safety should always be maintained during the entire process and in the connection of pipes and pipes fittings.

Many of these substances or fluids are characterized by being corrosive, it is a main factor that can cause problems or damage in industrial facilities, such as:

Contamination and alteration of the products and substances themselves.

Possibility of leaks and leaks.

Stoppages in production.

Premature wear of the facilities.

Very high replacement and maintenance costs.

This requires the transmission of chemicals and industrial pipelines to withstand high pressures and pressure fluctuations, and to resist the corrosiveness and wear resistance of the transmission medium, especially the mud in cement plants, and the acids, alkalis and salt in chemical plants. The high-density polyethylene pipes and high-pressure PE pipes produced by Bingo Pipeline can fully meet the above requirements. They have good wear resistance, chemical resistance, toughnes and excellent long-term performance, and they are also flexible and easy to install.

Advantage of the High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Industry and chemical Pipes and Fittings

HDPE pipe is available for pressures up to 300 psi and constant service temperatures up to 140° F. Please see the chemical resistance chart from Bingo pipeline documents for the affects of different chemicals at different temperatures.

With polyethylene pipe, you will get all these benefits. Because of hazardous nature and dangerous for some chemicals during transportation, it is necessary to ensure that the system does not leak. The leak-free joints produced by hot-melt polyethylene pipes are stronger or even stronger than the pipe itself in tension and pressure applications. These joints are These joints are fused together, they do not need thrust blocks or tie-down straps unless the pipe is connected to a non-polyethylene system.

Polyethylene pipe has corrosion resistance and has a long history of being used as a wear-resistant material in industrial, chemical and mining applications. It is lightweight, easy to install, and because of its flexibility, it reduces the number of accessories or PE fittings required in the system.

HDPE provides superior advantages over traditional pipe materials due to its flexibility, ease of handling, longer service life and its ability to be configured to meet almost any unique and non-standard situation in the many fields. HDPE pipes have a lifespan of about 50 years.

Pipes can withstand the pressure from PN2 to PN25, above working pressure.

Available in a host of the grades of the material like PE:63, PE:80 and PE:100.

The inner surface is smooth, with low friction coefficient, resulting in excellent flow characteristics.

This product flyer is intended for reference purposes. It should not be used in place of the advice from a licensed Professional Engineer. Nominal pressure (PN) is based on C = 1,25 and an operating temperature of 20°C. Weight is calculated using DN and Minimum wall plus 6% for use in estimating fluid flow. Actual ID will vary. When designing components to fit the pipe ID, refer to pipe dimensions and tolerances in the applicable pipe manufacturing specification. To obtain pressure in psi, multiply bar by 14.5 (1 bar ≈ 14.5 psi).
